The place & the possibility

Is this your kind of path?

Italy offers public and private universities, programmes in Italian and English, and different funding routes. The academic choice is only one piece: housing, local administration and the timing of scholarship payments matter too.

Start here

What to check before you apply.

These are starting criteria for Ethiopian applicants, not fixed country-wide cutoffs. Your chosen university, programme, intake and visa authority set the actual requirements.

From high school to bachelor’s

A secondary-school qualification that the institution accepts for the chosen course; check any required entrance test, subject preparation and programme language. Foreign qualifications may require specific documentation or assessment.

From bachelor’s to master’s

A recognised bachelor’s qualification in a relevant field; check degree content, credit prerequisites, language evidence and each programme’s admission calendar.

Bring these questions to your first conversation
  • Academic records and qualification documents, with translations or verification if requested
  • Programme language and any entrance test or interview
  • An affordable plan covering tuition, living costs and funding timing
  • Passport and institution-specific application documents
The route, step by step

How an application usually unfolds.

We make a programme-specific plan and check dates before any submission.

01

Choose programmes and check each university’s admissions page.

02

Prepare qualifications, language proof and any test or portfolio.

03

Apply to the institution; follow its instructions for evaluation.

04

If a visa is required, complete the official Universitaly pre-enrolment route and the consular study-visa process.

05

After arrival, complete enrolment and applicable stay-permit steps.

Scholarship & funding lens

Explore university and regional funding calls individually. Each award has its own eligibility, documents and deadlines; an offer does not guarantee funding.

Life beyond the offer

Plan for accommodation and early expenses before any scholarship disbursement. Italian administrative steps may involve several offices and dates.

Your Italian application

A clear plan, from documents to departure.

Every application starts with the right programme and a realistic timeline. Via Pathways helps you understand the requirements for your chosen course and organise each stage.

  • Academic fit: review your previous qualifications, subject background and the entry criteria for bachelor’s or master’s study.
  • Application preparation: organise transcripts, qualification documents, language evidence and any required personal statement, test or interview.
  • University admission: prepare the agreed applications and track programme-specific deadlines and decisions.
  • Scholarship research: assess relevant university and regional opportunities, including financial documents and separate funding deadlines.
  • Pre-enrolment and visa preparation: after admission, organise the applicable pre-enrolment steps, visa documents and interview preparation where required.
  • Getting ready for Italy: plan accommodation, arrival, enrolment and applicable residence formalities.

Your exact checklist depends on your qualifications, programme and intake. We discuss the requirements and agree on our support after the introductory call. Universities and the relevant authorities make admission, scholarship and visa decisions.
